Vision 2018

Vision Statement

 Grace Church envisions making disciples who become equipped to make disciples, a community growing in membership, maturity, and influence in the coming generation.

Purpose Statement

Grace Church exists to draw people closer to the fullness of their call* in Jesus by creating ministry settings for these five primary purposes:

  • To invite people to see Jesus as Lord that they may bow to worship Him;

  • To integrate people into our family through vibrant fellowship opportunities;

  • To instruct them to be imitators of Christ through thoughtful discipleship;

  • To incorporate each with their unique Spiritual gifts to the body through opportunities of practicalservice in Jesus’ name;

  • To influence Highlands county with the Gospel through intentional outreach and evangelism

You’ve probably noticed some changes in our weekly worship services. That has been done for a reason. We sing and give, we hear a message, and we respond. That 'response' element has been an emphasis for us recently, and you can expect to see that continue. We want to give everyone a chance to not just witness worship, but participate. This means that we made the choice to switch up the way we format our services. But that isn't the end of the story. We are asking you to do something new.

Prayerfully consider who God is asking you to reach out to and invite them to come to church with you. We feel that this new format gives us the chance to make a real impact on the people who need to know God that walk through our doors, and we need you to be a part of that.

Goal: Every seat filled at every service

A Vision for Worship

When Jesus gave the disciples the Great Commission, he gave them a checklist for how to grow the church by introducing more people to the Good News, or the Gospel. He said:

"Go therefore and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and in the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Spirit, teaching them all that I have commanded you.”

For as long as we can remember we have stressed the importance of making disciples.

As we looked to cast vision we realized that it has been a while since we have seen a lot of new believers become a part of the Grace family. What we have decided to do is to build into this campaign a heavy emphasis on evangelism, which is the baptizing part of the Great Commission.

Will you commit to pray daily for an opportunity to share the Gospel with someone you know by name?

GOAL: 52 new disciples for Jesus in the next 12 months.

A Vision for Evangelism

We've set our focus on fellowship before. One thing we have rarely addressed is the concept of membership. In order to add this as a focus, we are relaunching our membership class, and putting one 4-hour class on the schedule every other month. That means that we will have 6 new members classes in the next year.

We are also planning to launch a small groups ministry. Cross Connections has grown beyond 30 people, so we are taking the opportunity to multiply the study into two groups. Our vision is to continue to multiply this small groups ministry.

If you are interested in being a part of a small group,sign up in the hallway. None of this is possible without participation from you, the Grace family. t's our desire to see everyone grow closer in their walk with God but not just attending Grace, but by participating.

GOAL: Add 100 new members in the next 12 months, AND have 150 people of Grace attend a small group of less than 20 people weekly.
